The most worn shoe in any sneakerhead’s arsenal is always a pair of slides. Whether you go for a pair of Nike Benassi or the classic Adidas Adilette model; owning a pair of slides opens doors that are vast and limitless. No longer do you have to put on a pair of trainers every time you go to put the bins out, neither do you have to awkwardly slip your feet into a pair of flip flops in the summer because you simply can’t be bothered to take your socks off. A pair of slides is your ticket to an easy life, and now Adidas have ensured that you can do it in style.
I am of course exaggerating, slides don’t solve every problem you encounter in your day to day life. They are however a pretty neat tool. For the entirety of their lifespan though, slides have been a product that is relatively difficult to make cooler than they already are. Perhaps the only people to truly succeed in doing so are Puma and Fenty with their collaborative, fluffy pair released last year. Adidas have given us the answer, with a Primknit version of the coveted Adilette model released just in time for summer. This model sees the same three stripes pattern, only with a Primeknit upper replacing the original moulded material. At 55 dollars this is no cheap piece of kit, but with the amount of use you get out of a pair of sliders why not splash out and get yourself a pair you can be proud of.
